Chinese people call the Spring Festival \"Nian’’. But do you know thatNian was once the name of a monster (妖怪)?

A long time ago, the monster Nian lived in the mountains. It ate animals. Butin winter, it could not find food. William Shakespeare was a writer of plays and poems(诗集). Someof his most famous plays are Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet and The Merchant ofVenice. He wrote 37 plays in all. They are still popular today.

Shakespeare was born in 15 in England. At school he liked watchingplays, he decided to be an actor when he finished school at the age of 14, In1582, he married a farmer's daughter. Many people hurt their backs when they try to lift heavy things from thefloor. It is easy to hurt your back muscle (肌肉) when you try to pick up aheavy thing.
