冬天的西北风刮个没玩，刮到脸上，就像用小刀儿一下一下割着，真疼啊！

松鼠妈妈要生小娃娃了。可是她还没找到一个避风的地方。 松鼠爸爸很着急，他在树枝上蹦来蹦去，想找一个暖和的树洞。 The winter, the northwest wind continued blowing. When the wind blew one's face, it felt like a knife cutting his face. It really hurt!

Mama squirrel was going to give birth to little babies, but she hadn't found a place that could stop the wind.

Papa squirrel was very worried. He jumped here and there on the branches, trying to find a warm tree hole.

一声粗嗓门：“对不起，我已经住上了。” 松鼠爸爸一听就知道是大黑熊。他赶忙走开了。

松鼠爸爸谈了一口气，跳下大树，又为松鼠妈妈寻找声娃娃的地方了。 The wind became stronger and stronger, and it started to snow.

Huddling up and holding her big belly, Mama squirrel sat on the branch, worrying almost to tears.

Sighing deeply, Papa squirrel jumped off the big tree and kept trying to find a warm place for Mama squirrel to give birth to her babies.

走着走着，他忽然踩到一个软绵绵的东西，他摇摇大尾巴，把覆盖在上面的雪扫一扫，啊，露出一只棉手套！

As he walked in the snow, he looked here and there, but he couldn't even find a grass nest. Papa squirrel couldn't feel his feet, but he didn't care. He wanted to find a nest for Mama squirrel, so that she could deliver her babies safely!

While he was walking, he suddenly stepped on something soft. He wagged his big tail and swept the snow away. Ah, it was a cotton glove!

Papa squirrel knew that it must be a child who had left the glove here carelessly, but he couldn't care that much. He asked Mama squirrel to get into the glove immediately.

Soon, she gave birth to five baby squirrels.

五只小松鼠淘气极了，这里钻钻，那里拱拱。最后，五只小松鼠钻进了棉手套的五个指头，正好每只住一间小房子。

The five baby squirrels were extremely naughty. They scurried here and arched there. At last, they scurried in the five fingers separately. The five small rooms were just enough for each of the baby squirrels.

小松鼠们呼呼地睡大觉了。松鼠妈妈睡在娃娃们的身边，守护着他们。松鼠爸爸也想钻进手套里暖和暖和，可是里面太挤了，他只好又出来，卧在手套外面，用自己蓬松的大尾巴盖在身上取暖。

The little squirrels started to sleep. Mama squirrel slept next to her babies, protecting them.

Papa squirrel also wanted to go inside the cotton glove to get warm, but it was too narrow inside. He went back outside and laid outside of the glove, covering himself with his fluffy tail to keep warm.

风，越刮越猛；雪，越下越紧。五只小松鼠依偎着妈妈还喊冷。松鼠爸爸就用自己的大尾巴堵在棉手套的口上，为他们挡风雪。 他迎着风雪卧在棉手套的外面，他冻得发僵了，也不肯离开一步。 The wind was getting stronger and stronger, as was the snow. Even though the five little squirrels were snuggling up to Mama squirrel, they still felt cold. Therefore, Papa squirrel used his big tail to cover the opening of the glove, preventing the wind and snow from going into the glove.

Lying outside of the cotton glove, facing the wind and snow, Papa squirrel was chilled to the bone, yet he wouldn't move even one step.

忽然，松鼠爸爸听见远处传来“咯吱咯吱”的脚步声。脚步声越来越近，他看见两只踏雪鞋停在面前。他仰起头一看，见一个男孩子站在了跟前，他一只手戴着棉手套，另一只手光着。

松鼠爸爸一看就明白了，就是这个男孩子丢了他的棉手套。 Suddenly, Papa squirrel heard scrunching footsteps from far away. The sounds got clearer and clearer, and he saw a pair of snowshoes stop in front of him. Papa squirrel looked up and found a boy standing in front of him, with one hand wearing a cotton glove, the other hand bare.

Papa squirrel understood at once. This was the boy who lost his cotton glove.

真的，他是来取回他的棉手套的。

他蹲下身来，刚要伸手去拿，松鼠爸爸说：“谢谢你的棉手套。” 男孩子却说：“我该谢谢你呀，是你替我看管手套啊！”

“不，”松鼠爸爸说，“我该谢谢你。你看，我的五只小松鼠和他们的妈妈，正躲在你的棉手套里哪！要不，他们真会冻死的。” Right, he came to get his lost cotton glove back.

The boy stooped down. As soon as he stretched his hand out to take the glove, Papa squirrel said, \"Thank you for your cotton glove.\"

The boy said, \"I should say thanks to you. It's you who kept the glove for me!\"

松鼠爸爸自豪的说。这时候，小男孩发现松鼠爸爸全身盖满了雪花。他毫不犹豫的脱下另一只手套，轻轻的放在地上，然后转过身来，不声不响的走了。

松鼠妈妈和她的五只小松鼠，探出头来想谢谢他，只见他已踩着厚厚的大雪，“咯吱咯吱”的走远了。

\"Why didn't you go inside?\" the small boy asked.

\"It's too narrow inside, and I need to prevent the snow from going into the glove.\" Papa squirrel answered proudly.

At that moment, the small boy saw that Papa squirrel's whole body was covered with snow. The boy took off his other cotton glove without any hesitation and put it on the ground lightly. Then, the boy turned around and left silently.

Mama squirrel and her five little squirrels stretched out their heads in order to thank him, only to find he had already walked very far in the thick snow. \"Scrunching, scrunching...\"

松鼠爸爸说：“好好保存这两只手套，明年春天天暖了，我们一定要送还给他。”

五只小松鼠望着男孩远去的背影一齐喊着：“我们长大了，跟着爸爸妈妈一起去！”
