Similar: They hope the way would be quickly ended. There would be less innocent people affected by the war. They appreciate brave people, or animals.

Difference: War horses should be treated equally with people because they fight, are not afraid of death and die like heroes. Victory is not that easy. Others are just over confident.

5. War is extremely cruel and harsh, after have suffered so many hardships, the wounded men are afraid and disappoint in some way. but Joey and Tophorn are not the same, they are always full of vitality and spirit, which give them great encouragement and inspiration. Eventually, they have the confidence to win the war. The physical illnesses and mental blows make them on the edge of collapse. If it weren't for Joey and Tophorn, they would have already lost all the hopes to live. Joey and Tophorn are just war horses, and they can survive in the war. What about themselves? In this case, they have the desire to live again. During the war, all the colors are gray and dark. There are deaths everywhere. The terrible atmosphere covers the whole battlefield, makes people hard to breathe. But Joey and Tophorn are just out of tune with the whole battlefield, they are fresh and alive. They have added a hint of optimism to the monotonous lives of the wounded men.

6. The Welshman.(P107)

Reasons: This doesn¡¯t mean that I like the Welshman more. In fact, I appreciate both of them. Because they are able to keep friendly and solve the conflict in a peaceful way, even if it¡¯s during the war. The main reason I make this decision is that I think I do want Joey and Albert reunite. Maybe I really into the book and hope there is a happy ending. If Joey is taken away by the German, he would unlikely

meet Albert again.

Event: They want the war end as soon as possible so that they can get back to their homes. If allowed, they want to end the war in a peaceful way. They even make a joke that the two countries can use the method of throwing coins to decide which side is the winner, just like what they have done. So there will be no more sacrifice. In fact, they themselves did not know the true meaning of the war. they only know that they have to fight to protect their country and their people. But now it seems that it is not necessary. By the contrary, the war caused more people losing their lives..

They understand each other and make allowance for each other. Because both of them know that the war is not caused by the other side. They are both poor and innocent people, forced to take part in the endless and meaningless war, easily will die. So they choose to resolve conflicts in a peaceful way. Even make wishes when they leave.
