虽然翻译也是往年四级考试题型之一，但是从新四级考试开始，这一题型发生了重大变化，由考查英译汉转变为考查汉译英。汉译英试题占总分的5%，属于考生应该争取拿分的基础题。因为这一题型说为翻译，实为补全句子，考查的是语法结构和词组运用知识。较其他可能出现的主观题而言，汉译英题目相对简单，无非是五个难度中等的词组或从句的英语表达。
汉译英命题涉及四级水平学生应当掌握的句型、语法、词组知识点。对考生而言，选择正确的词形和句型将会是更大的挑战。我们知道新题型放弃了以往的词汇语法选择项，但万变不离其宗，新题型把必须掌握的相关的知识点放到了完型填空及翻译的这一部分。如2006年6月24日的翻译试题：

87题，题干中已经给出have no trouble,说明考察的是have (no)trouble (in) doing sth.这一词组，因此可以断定，关键采分点之一必然是看考生在答案中是否使用了动名词形式；
88题，需要翻译的是目的状语，因此最好的方式必然是以 “in order to”或“to”开头。这一题中给出的参考答案使用了finance的动词用法，但如果考生能够使用raise money, support等相对基础的词汇，相信仍然能够得分。
89题，require that是建议句型的一个变体，这个句型补全之后的形式应为 require that sb. (should) do sth.；
90题，是考生应该十分熟悉的the more„, the more„ 句型；同时，对“糊涂”的正确
译法“be confused”相信也应是关键采分点之一。
91题则是让步状语从句之后的主句，关键采分点之一是看考生是否掌握though引导让步状语从句时，主句不应有but存在。
因此，汉译英考点的实质仍是基础知识，如果考生备考时能够牢固掌握四级核心知识点，拿到汉译英这一部分的分数应该是相对容易的。但是需要注意到的是，汉译英部分的做题时间只有5分钟，这就意味着考生必须对知识点掌握足够熟练，满足考题在速度上的要求。
当然，在完成这部分题目时，考生也必须注意避免产生其他主观题解题也会存在的问题，如字迹潦草、书写不规范、拼写错误等。考生在完成主观题时必须特别注意字迹清晰工整，避免非战斗性损失的发生。
