摘要：In an air cleaner employing at least one pleated paper filter element 7 in theform of a frustrum of a cone mounted in a cylindrical casing having a first opening 3axially thereof communicating with the inside of said element at the wide end of saidelement and a second opening 1 in the cylindrical wall of said casing communicating withoutside of said element in the vicinity of the narrow end thereof, the axis of said elementis tilted relative to the axis of the casing away from said second opening, whereby theradial clearance between the filter element and said opening is increased for a given filterelement without increasing the size of the casing. Inlet opening 1 may be radially ortangentially directed.
