My Big Family and Their Jobs and Travels

I come from a huge family! We have lots of aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents. Everyone has an interesting job and a unique way of getting around. Let me tell you all about them! First up, my dad. He's a construction worker who helps build big buildings and roads. His job is really important for our city. Every morning, he wakes up super early, around 6 AM, and hops into his pickup truck to drive to the construction site. His truck is bright orange and has lots of tools in the back. Sometimes, when there's a traffic jam, he takes the subway instead. The subway is underground, and the trains go really fast!

My mom is a teacher at my elementary school. How cool is that? She teaches math and science to kids my age. In the mornings, she rides her bicycle to work. She has a cute little basket on the front to carry her lunchbox and books. If it's raining, though, she takes the bus. The bus has big windows, and I love waving to her when I see it go by.

My grandpa used to be a farmer, but now he's retired. He still likes to work in his garden, though. He grows the yummiest tomatoes and cucumbers! Grandpa doesn't drive anymore, so

my uncle Bob often gives him a ride in his minivan. Uncle Bob is a soccer coach, and he uses the minivan to take his team to games and practices.

Aunt Sarah is a nurse at the hospital. She works really long hours, but she says it's worth it to help people feel better. Aunt Sarah drives a hybrid car that's super fuel-efficient. It can go really far on just a little gas! Sometimes, if she's too tired to drive home after a night shift, she takes a taxi.

My cousin Emma is still in college, but she has a part-time job at the airport. She helps people check in for their flights and handles their luggage. Emma doesn't have a car yet, so she takes the airport shuttle bus to work. The shuttle bus has these cool luggage racks inside to hold everyone's suitcases.

Uncle Mike is a police officer who keeps our city safe. His job can be dangerous sometimes, but he's really brave. Uncle Mike drives an awesome police car with sirens and flashing lights. When there's an emergency, he turns on the siren and zooms through traffic to get there fast!

Aunt Lily is a chef at a fancy restaurant downtown. She makes the most incredible dishes – you've never tasted anything so delicious! Aunt Lily usually walks to work since the restaurant is close to her apartment. On rainy days, though, she takes an

Uber or a Lyft. Those are ride-sharing services where a driver comes to pick you up in their personal car.

Finally, there's my grandma. She's retired, just like grandpa, but she used to be a flight attendant. Grandma traveled all over the world for her job! Now, she mostly stays close to home, but sometimes she takes the train to visit her sister in another city. I love riding the train with her and watching the countryside go by through the window.

As you can see, my family has all sorts of cool jobs that keep them busy. They use many different kinds of transportation to get where they need to go, like cars, buses, bikes, and even airplanes! I'm really proud of each and every one of them. Someday, I'll have an awesome job and way to travel, too!
