Text A Say Yes

1. They were doing the dishes, his wife washing while he dried. Unlike

most men he knew,he really pitched(用力扔;投;抛;搭帐篷;沥青漆黑;) in on the housework. 46. He had no choice but to demonstrate his indifference to her. Quietly,

His heart pounded(反复击打;连续砰砰地猛击) the way it had on their first night together, the way it still did when he woke at a noise in the darkness and waited to hear again- -the sound of someone moving through the house, a stranger.
