notonlybut（also）用于否定句的词典例句
本条目的例句不多，但足以说明not only…but（注意不是also, too也不是as well）… either可用于否定句的结构。
具体来看是两种结构：
第一是not only not结构：

他们不仅没帮忙，甚至都没表示要帮忙！

（7）not only…but also…用于否定句中。例如：
We arenot only notattaining it as a nation, but we are failing further and further short of attaining it.
（第一分句为否定式）
作为一个民族，我们不仅没有达到这一目的，而且离这一目标越来越远。
第二是not only…but not… either结构。

When I went to collect my car last week, not only did the garage overcharge me, but they hadn’t done a very good repair job either.
注意，以上是not only 分句结构。
