摘要：A process for manufacturing a composite article which includes at least one partfabricated from metal and/or plastic material is described. The process includes: (a)placing a part (′) into a mold (not shown); and (b) closing the mold and concurrently

deforming at least a portion of the edge region (′) of at least one part (), thus forming adeformed edge region (). The deformed edge region may be selected from: (i) at leastone aligned edge region () which includes at least two edge portions (′) that are alignedside-by-side; and/or (ii) at least one abutting edge region () which includes two edgeregions (′) abutting one over the other. In a subsequent step (c), plastic material () isintroduced (e.g., injected) into the mold and over the deformed edge region (). Thecombination of the concurrent deformation of the edge portions (′) and molding ofplastic material () over the deformed edge regions () serves to fixedly attach the edgeregions (′) of the deformed edge region () together, thus forming the composite article.
