One morning, a blind boy sat on the steps of a building with a hat by his feet. He held up a sigh which said, “I am blind, please help me.”
There were only a few coins in the hat. A man was walking by. He took out a few coins from his pocket and dropped them into the hat. He then took the sign, turned it around, and wrote some words on it. He put the sign back so that everyone who walked by could see the new words.
Soon the hat began to fill up. A lot more people were giving money to the blind boy. That afternoon the man who had changed the sign came to see how things are. They boy recognized his footsteps and asked, “Are you the one who changed my sign in the morning? What did you write?”
The man said, “I only wrote the truth, I said what you said, but in a different way.” What he had written was, “Today is a beautiful day, but I cannot see it.” Do you think the first sign and the second sign were saying the same thing?
Of course both signs told people the boy was blind. But the first sign simply told people to help by putting some money in the hat. The second sign told people that they were able to enjoy the beauty of the day, but the boy could not enjoy it because he was blind.

About 1.3 billion tons of food are wasted around the world each year. At the same time, there are people who haven’t enough to eat.
Many people don’t know that food waste begins on farms. For many reasons, farmers have to
throw away lots of food. One of the biggest reasons is market standards (标准). In rich countries, food markets will only sell the highest quality (质量) food. All the produce has to be the same color and the similar size. Sometimes a vegetable will be too big or too small. This food is fine to eat, but many food markets will not sell this kind of produce. And most of the time, farmers throw away the food that markets reject.
But the Fraser Valley Gleaners Society( FVG) believes this food does not need to be wasted. This Canadian organization’s goal is to collect extra(额外的) farm produce and make food for hungry people around the world.
Every year farms in Canada’s Fraser Valley give the FVG over 900 tons of vegetables. So what does the FVG do with all this food? It makes dried soup. The dried soup makes a healthy meal that can travel in boxes all around the world. In 2013, the FVG sent more than 13 million meals in more than 40 different countries.
One person who uses dried soup is Oscar Palencia. Palencia is from Guatemala. In Guatemala, 50% of children don’t have enough to eat. Palencia started to feed children living in hunger. Now, he can feed 150 children. Palencia talked about the difference the soup makes for children, “The teachers are saying, ‘The children are sitting still. They want to learn. They are not tired all the time … We know it is the soup.’”

( )71.Which is the best title for the passage?
A.A popular activity.

The reading habit of children can’t be developed overnight.
If your children are beginning readers, as parents, you must help them find the suitable books first. You should look for books with colorful pictures and simple words for them. You should find out what your children are interested in and then help them choose the books that are related to (与……有关) their interests. Once they know what kinds of books they like to read, you can encourage them to choose the books on their own.
You can choose books that you can read together with them. At the same time, you can also choose books which your children can read to you. By doing so, you are able to share some nice stories with your children and it helps develop their reading habit.
What if your children do not like reading at first? Don’t worry. And never force(强迫) them to read. You can ask your children to draw pictures according to what they read. You can even ask them to make their own bookmarks(书签). By doing so, they will be able to develop a reading habit slowly.
It is not necessary to read at home. You can ask your children to read some materials wherever they go. When you go shopping, you can ask your children to read the names of the products. By doing so regularly, I am sure you will be able to help your children learn more words easily.
